The Advanced Soccer School is intended to form a link between grass roots football and the Centre of Excellence coaching programme here at Leyton Orient Football Club. It aims to help develop young players football abilities at their own pace following the syllabus of the Football Association Programme for Excellence.

The Leyton Orient Advanced Soccer School recognises that players develop in football terms at different stages and that some players will develop both physically and technically at slower rates than others. This is taken into consideration throughout their time with us and no pressure is placed on players to progress until they and their parents are happy for them to do so.

Friendly fixtures for all age groups are arranged on a regular basis, attendance at these is not compulsory, but they do help us to gauge players progress and understanding in a match situation. Please note, players are entitled to remain playing for their school and club teams whilst enrolled at the Leyton Orient Advanced Soccer School.

Each player is invited to join the Advanced Soccer School for an initial period of three months (12 coaching sessions) during this time players will be assessed by our coaching staff on the following:
Training sessions
Friendly matches
Personal Code of Conduct
After this period players will each receive a copy of their assessment and will be informed whether they are: to be invited to continue on the Advanced programme, are to be recommended to the Centre of Excellence or are to be invited to attend other Football in the Community courses.

Please note that players will not be considered for a place at the Leyton Orient Centre of Excellence until they reach the age of nine so those players between 5-8 years old are automatically invited to attend the Advanced Soccer School until they reach that age.

The standard required to achieve a place at the Leyton Orient Centre of Excellence is extremely high. If you do not reach Centre of Excellence standard, it is our hope that you will, at the very least, have improved both as a player and as an individual as a result of the very high standards of coaching employed at the Advanced Soccer School.

Above all players and parents should remember that the most important thing is that you enjoy your
football or else its not worth playing.

Places at the Leyton Orient Advanced Soccer School are strictly by invitation only.

For further information please call Grant Cornwell (boys) or Lois Fidler (girls).
